Hi girls,
I'm new to beautylish... Sorta a lurker random poster if that makes sense. I've the past few weeks the skin around my nails on my hands has been super dry and peeling. Any suggestions? I stopped using the l'occitane hand cream my friend had given me for the past three weeks with no success. Am I just under moisturized? I'm a nurse that is constantly washing my hands and using hand sanitizer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Moisturize whenever you're just sitting there doing nothing (at home though since you're a nurse.) all of the washing and sanitizing is stripping your hands of oil and drying them out. They're just dry, nothing too bad though. Make sure to invest in a good cuticle moisturizer and whenever you're just sitting around and have time moisturizer those poor lil cuticles!

Burts Bees makes an amazing cuticle moisturize. you can get it at any Walgreen, CVS, or RiteAide

I avoid hand sanitizer like the plague. I also try not to use antibacterial hand soaps. Both dry my hands out sooo badly. I wash my hands a lot at work too and our soap is really harsh so I ended up bringing in my own moisturizing hand wash which helped a lot with dryness and cracking of my hands. I use a thick moisturizer (I think it's udder balm, the minty smelling one) and coat my cuticles in argan oil before bed. It would probably also help to sleep with moisture retaining gloves but personally I think that would drive me nuts.

I use hand moisturizer that gets absorbed really quickly like hand food by soap and glory. And at night I use eucerin aquaphor around my cuticles
