My skin tone isn't even so I end up putting larger amounts of foundation than I would like. Anyone have any tips, tricks, helpful suggestions, or ideas on how I can go about fixing it?

A good skincare routine! I got rid of my blemishes, acne scars, sunspots and redness by doing the following twice a day:
Cleanse with Clarisonic and Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleanser, apply Kiehl's Vitamin C Concentrate & then apply a good moisturizer (Elizabeth Arden Privage has been my favorite lately). I also use an alcohol free toner such as Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion or Kiehl's Calendula Herbal Extract Toner. Good skincare is where it's at! Once you get your skin under control, you'll need less makeup and what you do apply will look amazing. :)

It all starts with a good routine. If you want an even skintone make sure you are cleansing, exfoliating (this is important, to remove dead skin cells and let the new skin show through) and moisturize ever day. I have a full report of how to build a three-step routine, with recommended products that don't break the bank, on my website at: http://finnerbeauty.com/2012/11/29/creating-your-skincare-regime-cleansing/
