I'm new to make up brushes ! What's the difference and what do you prefer??

I prefer synthetic...it's an animal lover thing lol. I have no complaints about mine because I avoid cheap brushes that have flaky bristles.

So are the cheaper brushes synthetic ?

They are and they are easier to come by. Other perks: easy to clean and not irritating to animal allergic skin. Synthetic brushes have come a very long way and you get the same results with either these days.

Oh okay ! It just seems like real hair might be thicker and would get the job done better .

Not at all, you'd be shocked to find that most high-end professional tools are made with synthetic fibers. Synthetics can be made to mimic all sorts of hair textures.

EcoTools Bamboo Eye Shading Brush would be a good synthetic alternative. I love their brushes!
FYI: Many brands claim that their natural hair brushes are cruelty free with hair trimmed from live animals. If you are curious about brushes you already own, a phone call to the brand's customer service couldn't hurt. I personally just stick to the synthetics. :)

I don't think that anyone here believes that natural brush fibers are better than synthetic. Everyone here already agreed that synthetics are the way to go! :)

Id have to say natural hair brushes are better. They blend easier and go on smoother. I would never put fake hair in my real hair so why would i ise a fake hair brush on my face? And as for the whole cruelty thing.. You eat meat dont you? Wear leather? Im sure half the cosmetic produxts in your arsenal are animal derived and or tested

I don't own any real hair brushes. I love the way my synthetic brushes work!! Also this may sound dumb, but I'm allergic to cats and dogs- so I don't know if I would react to using real hair brushes in my face!! Lol

You lost me at "I would never put fake hair in my real hair" because it's not as if you need a makeup brush to blend in with your face. It's simply a tool and synthetic fibers are not dangerous. If anything, one is more likely to have a bad reaction to natural hair than synthetic. Also, when you get human hair extensions or a wig, the human that the hair came from was not slaughtered. Yes, I eat meat...cows, chickens, turkeys and pigs...not ponies, sables, goats, badgers or squirrels, which are slaughtered for the use of their hair, not their nutritional value. I'm not an animal activist by any means, but I do try to educate myself and make decisions better for the world around me.
Also, for myself personally, I seek cosmetic companies that do not participate in animal testing. Some may have slipped through the cracks when I was ignorant to the situation, but I have made wise purchases since my eyes were opened to the disgusting things that humans do to animals simply because they care more about making money than making a quality product.

Yes! I don't know if I would be allergic to all animal hair and I'd be afraid to try!! Lol
