As some of you already know from a post I made about a horrible reaction to Bite Agave Lip mask my lips are slowly healing up from the damage. I was giving scripts to deal with the serious hyperpigmentation that it caused but I'm reserving it as a last resort because I'm not a fan of steroids. My husband gave me a list of homemade remedies to soothe the pain and to heal the affected skin along with some goodies I can find at my favorite store.
Honey has been great as a nice lip mask mixed with oatmeal (pureed in my blender) to take care of the burning feeling I have. But the true gem has been Skinceutricals Antioxidant Lip. Its a super gentle exfoliant. I'm on day two using it and I can literally feel dead skin lifting and my lips do not feel dry at all. So I'm hoping and praying that it takes care of the hyperpigmentation issue sooner rather than later. I'm so impressed by the routine I've taken on it just might replace my Fresh Lip scrub.

Ohhh. I follow. yeah if its lightening it prob is from smoking etc... stick with it, it will even out.
I have the darker upper lip too. it ain't going no where but it is what it is. I've gotten used to it.. makes it easy to wear just gloss. ;-)

@Tamara...I wanna say I paid $36 for it. My top lip has always been darker than my bottom and it just never bothered me but when my bottom lip looked dang near the same color as top overnight I freaked out. I don't know if this will lighten up natural melanin pigmentation but if you're trying to lighten up from past smoking, allergies, environmental issues (cold weather or sun damage) this will definitely assist with that. This line can be found at most dermo offices or online at Dermstore. I snagged mine at Bluemercury and ordered a backup from Dermstore because of 20% discount sale they were having. If you left your email on my profile page I'll be sure to give up an update after a month. By then there should be a big improvement. I just apply my nighttime lip balm after I let this settle into my lips ( I wait about 5 min). Your current program sounds like its working...it definitely takes time.
@naomi...I'm remaining positive. It also doesn't help going thru radiation treatment either...makes me want to slather my entire body in a vat of oil. Skin so dry...especially on my back.
