Invest in a good foundation, something that's made to look as light as possible while still having coverage. Primer is necessary in my opinion, a good silicon based primer will smooth over any pores, fine lines, and uneven texture. HD powder will also make your face look flawless, it blurs out any imperfections and makes your face look airbrushed/photoshopped in real life. Also how you apply your foundation can affect how it looks, I get the best results by applying and buffing in foundation with a flat too kabuki brush, buffing in concealer with a blending brush, and finishing everything off with a damp beauty blender.

A setting spray will deff get rid of the powder look, you could use MAC fix+ or a true setting spray like Skindinavia to pro long your makeup.

If I were you I will try with compact mineral foundation instead of creamy or liquid foundation..

Maybe its because your foundation is a little too thick and hard to blend?
Then I suggest you mix your moisturizer with foundation then it would be better :)
but if your foundation has SPF ,you need to know that mixing with moisturizer can lower the SPF

Make sure your skin is prepped- clean and super moisturized. a good primer is also very helpful. you can also double check and make sure you're wearing a good foundation shade. the wrong color can make you looked caked on. :)
