Best reasonably priced facial serum

I'm after a serum that whitens and firms my skin. It needs to be reasonably priced, so nothing over $50. What would you recommend?

I'd go to a department store and get a sample of Clinique dark spot corrector serum. They're so generous with samples, you can try it out for a few days. I love cliniques turnaround concentrate as well.

I've heard a lot of good things about Shisheido as far as whitening and brightening go. The cleansers work really well and they also have the individual cotton mask treatments that you can use where you just wear it on your face for about 10-20 minutes then take it off and let your skin absorb the rest of the product that is left. I also know that Dior carries a line that is also really good. I believe it's called Dior snow, but I'm not sure if that line is only exclusive to Asia.

Japan and Korea are really big about whitening and brightening products. I highly suggest maybe looking into it and see if you can find what you're looking for
