Does anyone know a home remedy to get a cold sore to heal faster??

I don't get them often just when stressed once a year mayybe. I read on internet ice does nothing to heal it :-/ I can't find anything that says it actually heals faster.

You can buy cold sore cream from any chemist/drugstore. Just make sure any lipgloss/lipstick, etc.you've used when it started coming up isn't used again because it'll make them come back. Also, the more you touch it the bigger it'll get so don't play with it. Try cleaning with rock salt diluted in warm water :) if that doesn't work, buy the cold sore cream.

It is from herps , if they only come out around your lips , its type A.

you should not touch it and then touch any other part of your body. it could spread. go to your doctor to get a cream for it.

Wet your thumb, apply salt, once it's numb rinse with water but don't swallow the salt. When I did that mine went away in 2 days.

Cold sores are from a virus not a bacteria hence why you cannot take anti biotics to clear it up once you have the virus you have it for life and its very contagious when a sore is present on your lips so don't kiss, share cutlery, lip balm anything like that :) but 80% of people have this virus some will never get a cold sore some will get once rarely and some unfortunate people get them often

Zinc ointment (if google translate translated that correctly for me) is my saviour every tine I have a cold sore. you should just not touch the sore and at night when you go to bed put on a lot of product on the sore and let it dry during the night. when you wake up you can wash the remaining product off, but be gentle! for me it works wonders, always takes less than a week to get rid of my cold sores :) good luck!

Just cuz you have a coldsore dosen not mean you have herps, its a stran of the herps virus. take lysine everyday Karly and use Abreeva as soon as you feel one comeing on.

Hate to break it to you, but cold sores on the lips IS herpes. The only thing that clears them up is Valtrex, or valacyclovir, available by prescription from your doctor. My insurance completely covers the no-name brand of this medication. I had a huge outbreak about 6 years ago at the beginning and had no idea why. As long as I take my meds, I'm cold sore free. They are usually brought on by stress, or acidic fruits. It takes about 1-2 weeks for a cold sore to completely vanish. Usually I take a double dose of my meds when I feel one coming and it usually stops it from surfacing. My boyfriend of 5 years has yet to get it, so we're doing something right. Read this:

Yes , it is herps.

if it ONLY comes out on your mouth, its Type A.

you SHOULD go to your doctor and get something perscribed for it. don't touch it at all abd then rub your eyes, or any other part where you sweat. (under arm, eyes, nose, private parts, etc. )

Ok apply balm ALL THE TIME and make sure to clean lip sticks I recommend Nivea lip balms and bitters because it's amazing.

Lip blam won't work for cold sores.

they don't fight against it, its just mosturising your lips, making the sore wet and won't cure. you need something that will fight against the heat its producing.

Prescription Valtrex! will be gone it 4 days! home remedies will help but not as fast as prescription. You can try apple cider vinegar.
