So I have a moisturizer with SPF but it's not as moisturizing to my face as I need it to be, and it also burns my face... I need protection from the sun though...
If I mix it with another moisturizer will it still give me the same coverage?

If it burns DON't USE IT. That is the first and last rule of skincare.
What moisturizer is it? You need to find a new one that doesn't burn you.

Okay. Stop using it. Give it to a friend, throw it out, I don't care, it's not good for you.
I recommend Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer, it's lovely, super moisturizing, and has an SPF of 25 I believe. I've been using it for about 2 years, and it's really great.

I agree with Hannah, throw it out if it's burning.
In regards to SPF in the summer, I would suggest having an extra product for your sun protection as you don't really apply enough moisturiser (you need about a tea spoon of product for your face) for it to give you the full protection advertised.
On products I like Soap of Glory's Dreamscreen which is broad spectrum SPF50 (although I usually only go for 30 but I prefer the formula of this).
Caroline Hirons (not 100% sure about spelling) has two videos on her YouTube channel with an expert on SPF. They are long videos but very interesting and answer a lot of questions on SPF.

Yes I agree with Hannah. If it burns you need to find a new moisturizer. Look for one for sensitive skin. I like eucerin's
