I used some of my girlfriends, but it was the party city kind and I didn't really like it. What are some good black lipsticks?

Good ones...Portland Black Lipstick Co., OCC Lip Tar in Tarred, Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick comes in black, Anna Sui lipstick in 001 :)

I've heard heard good things about Limecrime's "black velvet" and Melt Cosmetics "bane". I think NYX also has a good one :)

Ohhh I also have the Lime Crime, I love that one :) none will get on your lips if you apply it right! Just put your finger in your mouth and then pull it out, anything that would end up on your teeth will end up on your finger.
