Girls, I'm buying my first highlighter today but I want to know how to go about using it. I'll try and find a picture of the product in a second so you girls can help me out more but I want my cheekbones to look nice but not crazy. I just need some help application wise and where I should be putting it generally speaking. Thanks girls!

I always put highlighter on top of my cheekbones, on the very highest point right above from where I put my blush. and on my brow bone :)

And I apply it with a very small blush brush or with a big blending brush.

You can use a fan brush or a fluffy brush and lightly pick up the highlighter and lightly place it on the tops of your cheeks ( so just above where you would apply blush). The thing about highlighters is that its very easy to over do it ,so just apply lightly and gradually build up the intensity. p.s you can also use highlighter on the tip of your nose and cupids bow to bring out your features. Like Julia said, apply it to your cheekbones, but to keep it natural, you don't want to take it down too far.

See in this picture how the highlighter is just applied to the very top? If it was brought down farther (towards the lips) it can look unnatural.

I've also notice if it's brought down too far, it can make you cheeks look oily.

I apply it with a fan brush and it can also be applied to the brow bone, nose bridge, cupid's bow & lightly on the forehead.

I usually hightlight on my cheek bones right were the sun would hit and a little on my cupids bow nothing to crazy! macs soft and gentle and beccas opal are amazing.

I apply it just as its posted in the pic that Amanda posted. Anything farther than that and it highlights my enlarged pores.
