I think she means like fake Mac products or urban decay naked palettes.

Don't use knock offs. If it's fake, throw it away. You have ZERO idea what's in it. There's been tons of stories how teenagers have gotten sick off of a fake palette, I even read one where they busted a fake makeup manufacturer and they weren't sanitizing anything and weren't even wearing gloves while handling the products and the pigments, it was a hand made fake Mac lipstick company so think of how many dirty fingers were on it. Don't use any fake/knockoff makeup just for your health.

I don't like any kind of knock off, whether it be makeup and knockoff designer purses.

For one, I don't think it's fair to the designer or the brand, to have fake products floating around with their name on it!

And then of course, the health effects of knockoff makeup. The quality isn't the same and it can be very dangerous.

I watched an episode of 20/20 where they investigated fake MAC makeup. The lab results showed that it was made of extremely high levels of unsafe chemical compounds.

But not only that, they exposed fake cleaning products, deodorant all kinds of everyday items I didn't even know had fakes!

I got mascara at the dollar store, first bad choice, it was in the cutest packaging though. Anyways, it was this midnight black, not coal black, and it stuck to my skin, so I messed up and got some on the upper part of my lid and it didn't come of, it only smudged and smeared across my brow bone, so I went to school like that. Lesson learned, just because the packaging in cute doesn't mean the product works.

I'm convinced I bought fake mac msf powder :/ I stopped using it as soon as I felt it wasn't quite right. I bought it on strawberry net.

I wouldn't buy fake versions. If you want to buy more affordable makeup just get your makeup from the drugstore.

Harlyn knockoffs by other companies are fine, just the ones that claim to be naked palettes by urban decay and aren't are where the risk are at. Every makeup company has a naked palette dupe now haha.

If you mean knock offs DON't DO IT. While you think your getting a great deal and saving money, you risk infection or worse which could cost you a lot more! just be careful.
