I wanted to show you guys how I grew my eyelashes so long. my eyelashes were very short, but by carefully putting Vaseline on them everyday they grew super fast. I don't have any makeup on or fake eyelashes, these are my actual eyelashes.

Vaseline is so bad for the eyelashes. And it doesn't actually grow them. Nothing can grow hair except latisse. It's all genetics.
But Vaseline is a sealant and not a moisturizer, so you're not even conditioning them. All you're doing is making a sticky breeding ground and trapping bacteria in. It can also trap lashes that are supposed to naturally fall out, causing in grown hairs on your lash line. If you want to use something to condition your lashes, try coconut oil since it's anti bacterial.
But please stop using Vaseline, it can do a ton of harm.

They look longer in person, I must say. Alyx, it works for me personally. I saw improvements in just a couple days. I don't keep it on all day, I put it on for a little while and then take it off. my eyelashes were short a few days ago and I saw improvements

Vaseline is terrible for your eyelashes and your eyes in general. It can do serious harm to your eyes. Definitely something I would never do. If you want to go your eyelashes get latisse.

The only thing it could be doing is trapping lashes that are supposed to fall off, making them appear thicker but Vaseline has zero benefits to your eyelashes and it's probably just placebo effect or you're noticing little differences. Your lashes and hair are determined by genetics, and lashes are determined by your eye shape. That's why big eyes have long lashes and smaller eyes usually have shorter lashes.
Just please stop using Vaseline, you're just inviting in really bad painful infections that can have serious effects like vision changes, blindness, sometimes surgery is needed. It's not worth it at all.

^ I don't get a lot, I get barely any to wear you can barely see it on my fingers, and I apply like mascara. people on here say its bad but everyone else says it helps them too. I see improvements.

Okay I'll stop, but I did see improvements, if you saw a before picture (which I don't have) from a week or so ago, you would see.

Okay, I tried. I can't stop you. But it can cause so many bad things. I personally don't think painful in grown hairs on my lash line, possible blindness, or infections are at all worth it not even working. It's like people claiming oil helps there hair grow. It helps it stay healthier, which in turn results in less breaking off, but it doesn't change your genetics, so it doesn't actually grow hair.
If you switch to coconut oil it can help. It'll condition and strengthen your lashes while being anti bacterial and not causing any infections. It will not grow them, but it'll condition them. I just hope you realize this science before you get a nasty infection.

^ I said I would stop. I'm sorry.

Don't be sorry. It's just when I first started on here there'd be at least one a week, someone going "I used Vaseline on my lashes everyday for x amount of weeks and I now have this red bump or my eye hurts to open or I have an infection etc" and it's because of the Vaseline trapping bacteria and basically inviting bacteria to sit and stay and brew on your lashes. But now any time it's mentioned lots of BL tell them. It's being concerned about your health and well being, I'm not at all attacking you or anything like that. I would just hate to see you get an infection that could damage your eyes.

Be careful with coconut oil, though..it can possibly clog pores!
anywho, I agree with Alyx! long time use can cause some great complications

Everything that all the girls have said!
Vaseline is a sealant & can clog up your tear ducts causing infection & other eye issues. it also does nothing to help lashes grow. it simply builds up on the lashes, which makes them appear thicker &/or longer. I would stop immediately

I agree with the ladies above. On another note... they appear longer because they are only being coated by Vaseline. If you apply it to one eye and not the other you will see what I mean. It is just product build up.
If you want to condition your lashes just simply use an oil to remove your make up before washing your face. I love to use Jojoba Oil :)

Yeah as said above, Vaseline is a sealant. Our dog had a nasty accident with his tail and while we were trying to bandage it, but it wouldn't stop bleeding, we put vaseline on it and it kind of... sealed the blood in lol.
