I dyed my hair 'dark brown'and it went black so I put a different lighter brown on and it's still black. what do you recommend I do as I want it a dark chocolate brown.

You'll have to bleach it to get it lighter I think.

Yes, to lighten your hair you more often than not need to bleach it or lift the color. What's your natural hair color?

I would wait atleast a week because the more you wash your hair the more the color will fade.

Regan I am naturally medium brown and I think I'll get a colour remover

You might also try stripping the color with the head and shoulders shampoo. It's worked for me when trying to quickly fade colors that didn't turn out right. Once it gets back to a similar shade of your natural hair color, apply a medium/dark brown dye. Just be weary of it being too dark, because you'll get black hair again. (:

I'd wait it out, I've stripped my black hair and when I dyed over it the brassy orange came through as roots the next day and it kept coming back for the longest time. I'd trying like Regan suggested in really warm/hot water a couple times but remember it isn't instant

Clarifying shampoo. Like 2x in the shower every day. Pick up a good deep conditioner as well. Or go to a salon. It's too close to the start of school to be practicing on your own hair.
