Sulphates are bad for your hair, so when you use sulphate free products it keeps your hair healthier
Marc Anthony shampoos are sulphate free, and so is OGX shampoos and both brands are from the drugstore

Mane and Tail is actually really bad for your hair.
OGX is a really nice brand for sulfate free shampoos and conditioners. They are often on sale at the drugstore as well.

Sulfates strip your hair of the natural oils and moisture that it produces, thereby drying out your hair and leaving it more prone to breakage and damage.
My personal favorite SLS-free shampoos are L'oreal EverStrong and Organix Hydrating Macadamia lines

And oh my goodness, if you see Mane n Tail, keep walking! That stuff is absolute crap. It will build up on your hair and seal the cuticle, preventing moisture from getting in and leaving your hair dull and dry. It's the type of build up that you would need a very intense, very high in SLS clarifying shampoo to get rid of. Baby shampoo is equally bad, it strips hair of moisture (though it doesn't leave build up), though I do know some girls on here (Alyx, I believe?) use it as a clarifying shampoo when absolutely necessary.

The L'oreal Ever range are amazing. I've used EverPure, EverSleek and EverRiche. They're all really lovely shampoos.

^ what Hannah said. Loreal ever line, organix (my personal favorite is the coconut milk ones), and I also like the macadamia brand but it's a little pricier.
And yes Hannah I use baby shampoo, but only when getting rid of leftover color since it's harsh and clarifying and gets rid of veggie dye super quick.
Please don't use mane and tail. It weighs your hair down soo much that it looks like it's "grown" but it's just coating the hair and weighing it down. It dries it out immensely and isn't even made for human hair. It's literally made for horses. Have you ever seen a horse with soft shiny hair? No because their hair products are designed to make their hair strong and rough so they can whip it at bugs trying to eat them. It's also to make thief hair weather controlled, this make the hair so coated that sweat literally glides off it so that the horse doesn't overheat under it's mane. Don't use mane and tail, it'll just result in damaged, dry, weighed down hair.

Don't use mane and tail! It s not made for human scalp , and maybe they will look longer , but they will be damaged :) ❤️

What everyone said about mane and tail is true. Just don't use it please.
...all sulphates are not bad for your hair. There are some that are gentle and clean your hair...and some that are super harsh and do not help your hair. Sodium Laureth Sulphate is a good sulphate. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is a a bad one.
