While Ewg is an okay site. It is also quite inaccurate.

1. Most of their information is based off of hear say and inaccurate sources. Always keep in mind that the www has biased information without any factual information.

2. The way these ingredients are listed as cancer causing agents is if used in an excessive amount way more than you accumulate in a life time.. Unless you use up five bottles of BareMinerals foundation a day, it is not a concern.
3. The amount of these ingredients present in products is limited. Which is why I say you have to use an overly excessive amount.

EWG is an eh ok site but it is very misinforming the the public and gives out all sorts of panics which is just not necessary.
The best cancer preventive measure is to start from the inside out. Our bodies have a great self defense system. We accumulate all kinds of viruses, germs, and bacteria. If you focus on keeping a strong immune system it will do much more than replacing your products especially since what gets absorbed into your blood stream from the skin is a very very low percentage.

And I am not telling anyone what to do or not do, I would just like others to know before trusting the site 110%. I too have family and friends affected by cancer... but they were healthy and some never used make up.

My cousin passed from cancer. She had fought the battle and won. However her immune system was greatly compromised and she took mlmo measure to strengthen it. So all it took was some Sushi to kill her.

Be careful using cinnamon! It can be irritating to the akin.

A lot of " cancer causing agents" were only tested in lab rats and are not necessarily proven in humans.

As we all know cancer can be heredity or a spontaneous environmental mutation. Cancer is a mutation in cells and they start replicating and doing funky stuff. Like the teratoma tumor which when cut open you can see teeth growing inside of it. While it is important to maintain a healthy immune system , that will not 100% keep a person cancer free. A health immune system comes into play when going through chemotherapy.

My best friend is a stage three or second to worst stage skin cancer survivor. Sometimes cancer happens for no reason so don't blame makeup:p.

Everything causes cancer apparently. It's easy to be paranoid and look into everything but at the end of the day, don't compromise living your life.

Like Lauren said, supposedly everything causes cancer nowadays. It's not nothing to play with, I understand it's a very scary thing, but a product more than likely does not cause it. It doesn't discriminate against makeup users or bologna eaters, it's a mutation and can happen to anyone.

I'm with the other girls.
everything can cause cancer in one way or another. I've lost an extremely close friend & family member to this disease & it made me want to..live life :D I wish people weren't so terrified of cancer. don't get me wrong, it's certainly not a disease to take lightly, but if you're going to avoid certain makeup products because they "cause cancer", you should also stop going out in the sun, wearing bras with underwire, get rid of cell phones (& basically all electronics), etc.

I'm sorry to all those who have also been touched BT cancer in one way or another :c so sad.

It's not just makeup... It's all body care products and pesticides in food. Those things start to add up and most likely contributes to why more women get cancer considering most men only use some body wash and deodorant while women use body wash shampoo conditioner lotion powder perfume makeup hair products etc

Well breast cancer is more publicized than prostate cancer. Some men tend to hide the fact they had cancer.
