BB Cream vs. CC Cream

I am in love with my BB cream from Smashbox. It's quick and easy and when my complexion is totally clear I can skip my foundation application all together = BB cream + setting powder = flawless complexion! (I typically use Philosophy primer + Foundation) I have recently heard about CC cream - what's the hype all about?

I have no clue but I know that I'm not going thru the whole alphabet to compare.lol. I love my Smashbox and Bobbi Brown bb creams.
