You live in the DMV region and here competition is alot with pricing etc.
It depends how much work you have done in the past and what your portfolio looks like.
When I first started I charged a bit low because I had not done enough work. Then I raised my prices slightly to catch up with the local MUAs. I still feel my prices are reasonable compared to those around me.
Example I charge $120 for bridal with a touchup kit that has liner, lipcolor, blotting sheets.
Bridesmaids: $50-$60.00 depending lashes or no lashes
So you have to determine these factors before setting any pricing at all.
Make sure you have a travel fee included if you are traveling beyond the 15 mile radius from your house to client's venue or house.
Do not give free trials at all. Make sure deposits are taken if they dont pay for a trial.
Clients usually do is that they dont want to pay for trials and do not also want to put down a deposit or are being hard dont work with them. Clients who bargain are not the clients for you and I learned this the hard way. Make sure you are firm with your policies and everything.
