My first day if high school I wore a casual dress and ripped tights. my sister is a freshman this year and she's wearing jeans and a blazer. The majority of my school doesn't dress up, but I like to be different. do whatever suits you!

I personally feel more comfortable dressing up a little for the first day and I will usually wear a dress or a skirt because my view is like it sets up your whole year but some people go for more comfortable looks or shorts and a nice shirt and yeah basically what Janelle said wear what will make you feel most confident! Good luck in high school!

I agree with Janelle! It's all personal preferences. Wear whichever makes you feel best! I did my version of 'dressing up' on the first day and it went horribly wrong because I'm a very casual person normally, I still regret it lol so learn from my mistake, rock whatever you're more comfortable in. On the last day, no one is going to be like "oh my, remember what she wore on the FIRST day!?" :)

I'd say where whatever you want! If you wanna dress up go for it! If not don't, wear what makes you confidnete. You can always wear a skirt and dress it down with a pair of converse or vans.

I always feel really self conscious on the first day, even though I have a uniform. Definitely don't wear something risky if you know what I mean. Pretty but also something you feel good and confident in. Good luck!

It really depends on your personality. I mean, I dressed up slightly nicer the first day. New clothes and what not. It's all very exciting. But I just wore a new pair of jeans with a simple top and a cute cardigan. (Did I mention I'm kind of obsessed with cardigans?). So it's really up to you. In general, yes, most people do dress a little bit nicer on the first day, though. :)

I always dress nice for the first day. I do dressy casual, so this year I'm wearing dark jean shorts, black v neck, a super cute long necklace and a cardigan (:
