Why does my foundation look cakey sometimes?

I use L'oreal true match foundation and it appears cakey sometimes but I don't even use a lot.

How do you apply it and what skin type do you have and do you use a primer?

There are soo many different reasons for this. the main reasons, I find, are that your foundation may not be compatible with your primer or skin type, or that your face products may not be compatible together.

also, so you set your foundation with a setting powder?

If you put on too much powder over the liquid it can get cakey. Also it could be your skin.. I noticed that when I need to exfoliate my foundation looks cakey so you can try that(:

Do you set the makeup with a setting spray this helps to reduce the cakey look
