Hair products for painting my hair purple if i'm a brunette?

If you want a dark purple, you can use dyes like Special Effects or Punky Colors over your natural color.. They will turn out darker than if you pre-lightened your hair, but they will still show up and not alter your base color when they are completely gone

I went purple and used the speck effects purple dye from Walgreens, worked lovely! And faded away easily :)

Soft chalk is a great way to try out a new color and washes out. Look up chalking tutorials. A pack of chalk is usually less than 10 bucks :)

I wouldnt recommend spat hair color. I have dark brown hair and did a streak purple under my left ear about a month ago. It bleaches easily but the color fades away to a nasty pinkish shade after a few weeks. I love the purple it originally gives, but its such a pain to have to re dye it every couple weeks just to maintain the desired color.

Every hair color you buy thats blue, purple, pink, or green will need you to constantly maintain it. I use splat and It lasts me about a month or so before I need to retouch.

Don't use punky, that stuff is awful and stains everything! I like manic panic best. I've tried others but they just aren't the same.
