I hope it's under the right category... my 9yr old daughter has developed a really bad habit of pulling out her eyebrows...I have no clue why... she said she'll stop sonce now hhalf of them are gone...she looks pretty silly...how do I make it grow back faster since shes going back to school in 1 wk.

It depends on long they take to grow. of worse comes to worse you can always draw they in.

Unfortunately nothing can make them grow faster without using latisse. You can try putting coconut oil to condition the ones that are there and as the new ones grow back but it might break her out.
But it's a nervous habit that can become a boredom habit, one of my best friends in school used to pull her eyelashes out. It's a comforting thing to them. It took my friend a long time to get over hers, but her dad got her a spinner ring (they're super cool and they have an extra ring on them that spins) and she would spin that on her finger instead of pulling her eyelashes out. It took a bit and her telling us to make her stop when she was doing it, but in a few months after she got the ring she completely stopped with her eyelashes. So maybe try something like that, to distract her because even if she says she'll stop it'll be hard for her.

There's a technical term for compulsively pulling out hair - trichillomania. I'd look into it some more online and see if there's any helpful resources. Growing up I had a friend who had it, started with just her eyelashes and then became her whole entire head. It got like...really scary especially since she was young and it was a lot of hair coming out. She saw a psychiatrist and I think is doing much better now though.

Ooh wow I had no idea it could be or even better become that serious since I used to bite my nails when I was younger...only thing that madr me stop was when I applied acrylics at age 12...will definitely be researching this more

It could be serious but it could also be nothing, she might just be bored or nervous and found a habit, or it might be trichillomania. I know a lot of people with trichillomania, and they go to therapy and get the help they need. But like my friend that I was talking about it wasn't trichillomania it was just a weird habit she developed. So I wouldn't worry, but I would ask her if she's stressed or anxious about anything and figure out if it's just a habit or if it's brought on by stress or anxiety.

Yeah I saw an episode of "my strange addiction" about a girl who would pull her hair out and then she would eat it. I'm not sure there is anything that will help grow them faster. maybe get her something to fill in the eyebrows for the meantime.
