Does anyone with normal to oily skin use cleansing oils to wipe off makeup and as a facial cleanser? does your skin feel more balanced, oilier, drier? I have combo to oily skin that has gotten drier in certain areas as I age (mostly around cheeks) but some products for oily skin just make my face feel too dry.

I like the eclos cleansing oil. I think it has made me skin more balanced and is awesome at getting off makeup. I only do it at night though.

Depending on your budget, dhc makes the absolute best one around. I swear. And the first time I tried it was in like 1999...they didn't just pump one out due to the popularity of cleansing oil, they know what they're doing! I think they have options for different skin types but I use the original. A good cheap alternative is the one by garnier, and it smells heavenly and gets off every bit of makeup even waterproof!

With both that I recommended, my skin feels perfectly balanced after use. Uniformly clean and nourished.

I like the Dior cleansing oil that I mix with castor , jojoba and a few drops of tea tree n maracuja - I have acne prone skin and these oils have not broken me out - and I feel like it really deep cleans my face to get rid of blackheads and leaves it feeling nice and moisturized - but I still use toner afterwards and then moisturize with jojoba.

I have oily skin and I use the RMS coconut cream cleanser to remove my makeup and use Clinique's Foaming Cleanser to wash it all off. It leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and clean. I don't find that it makes it more oily. It works perfectly!

I have dry skin and oil cleanse but I found when reading reviews and stories on it before I started that it's very hit or miss depending on the person rather than skin type. Like I found tons of good and bad reviews from lots people with oily, dry and combo skin. But from what I read with oily skin it sounds similar to hair, if you don't strip as much natural oil or put oil in it, your body doesn't go and produce as much natural oil. You could even try moisturizing at night with a few drops of oil like jojoba or maracuja oil. I've heard that can really help oily skin. But it'll be dependent on your skin, since it might not react the same as the people's I've read about.

I think it would work better for you to make your own cleansing oil. A mixture of castor oil and jojoba oil work great for me. It's cheaper and you can tailor it and customise it on what works best for you. I'm referring to the oil cleansing method but it's a very similar process :)

I love dhc. Since the cost keeps me from purchasing it all the time I do make my own too. I really only use it as step one tho. I have one blend of castor oil and grape seed oil and another of castor and olive oil. I use one or the other depending on how what make up I have on. Then I follow up with my clarisonic and Cetaphil. I have oily skin too and realized what I was doing before was giving me massive flakey patches that got oily and had me looking like a hot mess.

Thank you everyone! I will try making my own since I already have some of the oils here at home. I bought the Garnier one and my skin feels so soft in the morning but once I wear my makeup and go about my day my face is oily again.

@Minita...it leaves a slight film behind and that is why your makeup fails on you. I occasionally reach for cleansing oil but only for PM and then I follow up with a traditional cleanser (better known as double cleansing). Just to get rid of the oily film and any other grime the cleanser oil left behind. I never use the cleansing oil for morning use.

I do the same Shelley I only oil cleanse at night and usually shower afterwards to ensure all the leftover oil from cleansing is washed away.

@Shelley I forgot to mention I only have used the oil at night. I think it may be my moisturizer but I will try cleansing again after oil at night. thank you!
