So I have a bad habit of dropping my compacts and palettes and recently broke a couple of my favorites. There's still a lot of product left but they're all shattered. I read that you can mix broken powder/eyeshadow with alcohol to form a paste, mold it back into place and let it dry. Does anyone know if this works well and if it's safe to use afterward?

And it is safe afterwards, the alcohol mostly evaporates and what's left just sanitizes your makeup.

Totally works! Except my powder ended up breaking a second time and I just wasn't up for that mess again! I used 99% isopropyl alcohol. Which just evaporates faster. It was all I had on hand.
