Getting them really tight is bad for your real hair underneath all the extensions.
I agree with Staci about steam helping in the meantime

Staci, thanks that makes a lot of sense I will definitely try that tonight! Thanks a lot jasmine, for your help especially. And Dy.. I think I may just have to wait it out! :( that's what I keep hearing. In the mean time I will make sure I keep it moisturized. Thanks!

I honestly just wait it out: (
But like the others said, you could try adding water/spray and see if it helps.

Ouch! Next time you take a shower put your braids up in a verry loose bun and expose your edges to the steam, that's always seemed to work for me, along with oiling my scalp with a lightweight oil, like jojoba oil!

Ohhhh, owie owie. My friend was suffering so much one time. She kept greasing them to loosen them, which I think is not good, ha ha. In the mean time you could take some ibuprofen to reduce the swelling that's probably happening at your roots.

Thanks jasmine. I've been using water mixed with leave in conditioner. My first time getting braids so I didn't know what to expect.

Spray with water. Like a mist so they'll loosen a little. And future reference make sure they don't braid so tight cuz it'll irritate your edges & even cause them to fall out :)

Is it anything I can do about the slight soreness around the edges? I want to try updos but it still hurts around the edges. Any suggestions?
