I am very confused on two things one being can I use bronzer to contour and does a smokey eye have liner? I was told a few different things for both questions so I'm unsure and I don't want to be taught wrong!

Bronzer is meant for giving a bronze glow, and usually is a warm orange toned brown with shimmer. It's not meant to create shadows, so technically no.
smokey eyes aren't supposed to have harsh lines, so a true smokey eye does not have winged liner or anything

Agree with Renay.
Contouring is meant to create shadows, and as bronzers are orange toned, they don't create shadows since shadows are clearly not orange. They also are very sheer, so buildin them up enough to be noticeable can look muddy.
Traditional smokey eyes do not have winged liner, they do have kohl liner. The kohl liner should be perfectly blended in to the eyeshadow without any harsh lines.

Not all bronzers are orange toned. Honestly it's all a matter of preference. There is no right or wrong way to do your makeup as long as you're happy with the result. Some people say you shouldn't contour with bronzer, but I've seen many makeup artists who have gone to beauty school and practice on clients use bronzer to contour. I trust their opinion. If you like the look of it then do it.

Contouring is meant to draw attention away from a certain area of your face by making shadows. Shadows would normally be a cool toned colour whereas a bronzer would typically be a more warm toned colour. So generally...no, you can't use bronzer for contouring (although I have found a few bronzers that are cool toned...very rare though)
Smoky eyes never have winged eyeliner...if anyone told you otherwise they are wrong.

To contour it should be a mate grayish toned brown this helps to create showdows to contour,Your not suppose to use a bronzer 4 the same reasons Renay.

No you can't use a bronzer to contour because it is orange toned and shimmery. a bronzer is use to warm up your face and give you that glowy summer look. try to find a matte pressed powder that is at least 2 shades darker than your natural skin tone to create that natural contoured look.

You don't need to use a powde you could use a foundation that is 2 or 3 shades darker then your skin tone aswell

I have to disagree with you, Kim! I've'e seen plenty of matte brown bronzers. Not all are orange toned and shimmery. A matte brown bronzer can easily replace the matte powder that is 2 shades darker than you're skin tone. It's pretty much the same thing. I've'e seen some really subtle looking bronzers that aren't harsh at all.

I've seen videos of professionals use bronzer as a contour and I personally think there's nothing wrong with it. But if you want to be technical about it you don't use bronzer with contouring. It's not meant for that but I use it to contour my face anyway cause my body is really tan except my face and it looks good when I contour with bronzer. But I understand it's not for everyone but you should give it a try and see if you like it!
