should I try out liquid foundation?

I've always used like a mineral/powder foundation from covergirl. I don't wear blush, bronzed, or any other stuff on my face on top of that other than eye makeup. But I want my face to look smoother, cleaner, and more even toned rather than powdery. Should I try liquid?
