Ok which do you prefer? Bb cream or foundation? I've only used foundation but think I might try the bb cream instead.. Is it lighter coverage?

In all honesty, it depends on the individual product you are comparing it too.
Saying a CC/ BB cream/foundation has less or more coverage than one another is off in my opinion because I own a BB cream with moderate to full coverage. It has more coverage than my tarte powder foundation, bareminerals foundation, l'oreal lumi foundation, neutrogena healthy skin, frankie rose matte foundation, stila bb cream, laura mercier tinted moisturizer, etc.
I would only compare coverage of foundation/ bb cream/cc cream if they were all from the same brand.
I personally believe they are all the same thing... they all even out the skin tone. so its funny to see how marketing hype makes people believe one is better than another when both even out skin tone regardless. To me a 'Color corrector' is salmon, purple, yellow, etc.not the same color as your skin tone.
If you want skin benefits, using an American BB/CC Cream is not the way to go.
I say use whatever you want, they are all the same thing. Just a bunch of hype, cosmetics are cosmetics.

I really live my bb cream! It's is going to be a lighter coverage than a foundation. I find that it does blue my acne scars and with a little concealer it covers my existing acne and dark circles.
I like bb cream better than foundation because it doesn't clog my pores the way foundation does and with extremely sensitive skin a lot of foundations break me out and just destroy my skin! I personally prefer those with SPF like the Maybelline dream fresh. I also use the NYC smooth skin parfait. The garnier bb cream is also an amazing drugstore bb cream!
I think it just depends on what kind of coverage your looking for and what your skin type is. I find in summer bb cream works better because it's lightweight and protects from the sun! In winter however, I find it can sometimes be too light and make me appear pasty. So, it really depends on what your looking for, your skin type etc.

I prefer bb cream for everyday and foundation for special events.
