So I have a whole lump of questions lol
Does anyone own a z palette? What are your thoughts on it?
How hard is it to depot your shadows?
& lastly I remember seeing a topic awhile back about if you bring 6 empty pots you can get a free lipstick or something?

@sarah. I have a mixture of both. I have a ton of loose stila pans I need in a palette. Plus I reach for my palettes way more then my individual shadows so ill def look into YouTube thanks for the idea.

Be really careful when you do your depotting! I messed up my MAC Moth Brown really badly when I depotted it, to the point where I had to repress it and it's still too messed up to put in a palette. And it was limited edition so I can't replace it unless I wanna pay eBay gouging prices. But I do think that depotting is worth it, like you I tend to reach for palettes more often so it helps to organize colors and keep everything stored compactly. Also to add on to the Back 2 MAC program, you don't have to go to a freestanding MAC store. I've done it at a Macy's counter before, but I would call ahead to the counter you plan on Back 2 MACing at to make sure they'll take it-- some counters are kinda bad about not wanting to take depotted containers and require the actual pan. Also non-LE lipsticks and Fix + count for Back 2 MAC :)

Depotting is super easy! Check out you tube but here is my method. Pop out the top plate from the front with a knife (be careful) so that you have just the pan and the black insert around it. Place some wax paper on a hot flatiron, but the shadow on it, wait about 30 seconds, flip it over there should be a little dimple in the centre, if not leave it on longer, if there is the flip it over and gently wiggle a knife into it and this will loosen the pan and it should pop out, be careful it will be hot. This is how I do it, i've never damaged a shadow and it takes about 2 min per shadow or less to do. Also if you visit a MAC PRO store you can choose from a lipglass, lipstick or eyeshadow for your 6 empties. At a counter (at least in canada anyways) it is a lipstick only. I've never had an issue with them not taking a depotted eyeshadow, they don't care about the pan.

Laura-- that's how I depot my stuff but I still damaged quite a few shadows. I think I left it on my flatiron too long or at too high of heat. And I didn't know that about the Pro stores, very cool! Lots of options to choose from.

I have a Unii palette and I personally think it's more sturdy and durable. Depotting is super easy! I'd never done it before until I got my Unii. It took me about five minutes to get all the shadows out of my UD Book of Shadows.

I have several Z Palettes and I love them. I bought mine straight from zpalette.com when they were having a sale but like Katy said MakeupGeek also has them for a few dollars less. I found depotting to be really easy. I have expected that at least one shadow may break but I can usually manage to nurse it back together. Still the end result is so worth it. I love taking my stuff to MAC. I wish more companies would do the same program they do.
