I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I try to help people as much as I can whether it be with hair, skin or nails. One thing that never fails to irritate me is when I suggest something to non professionals they blow it off and do the exact opposite of what I say or try to do it their self. And time and time again it always fails and they continue to return with the same problems.
Another thing that irritates me are nonprofessionals giving advice to other nonprofessionals. And by this I mean with like chemicals and things only licensed professionals should be doing.

I totally agree! I try to bite my tongue but it definitely doesn't always work!

It's just something that has been bothering a good bit since I've joined here. And I see it everywhere on here and it drives me absolutely bonkers. I don't have it too much in the salon. Granted most of the time if I suggest something they'll look at the price and say they'll come back. But once they eff up oh boy are you going to have your hands full that day.

That's what makes it advice instead of a command, the person can decide what to do with the information themselves.
A girl made a thread with the same complaint, except about skin, and I'm just going to copy and paste what I said on that.
"Just say your part and let it go because a lot of people don't care or don't want to know and you can't force them to.
Second reason is people are impatient and want results quickly and don't care how it effects them later in life.
If someones doing something awful to themselves and don't want to listen just leave them. You can try again when they make a thread for help correcting the damage"

So true Caitriona! I've gotten to the point where if someone asks me personally then I'll say my peace. I do occasionally respond to questions that don't have very many responses but I prefer to help those that want to listen. No point in arguing or anything. Too much stress!
