Hello lovelies, I would appreciate some primer help! At the minute I use revlon photoready ready primer and I love it for my oily skin. The only niggle I have is that it does nothing to diminish pores. I'm leaning towards maybellines baby skin for this reason but all of the reviews say it's no good for oil control. Could I use both at the same time? Would it work?

I tried Maybelline Baby Skin...couldn't keep it on my skin long enough because it itched/burned the mess outta my skin. With all the 'cones it contains it might cause you to over produce oil. But everyone's skin is different so it might be the opposite for someone else. As far as combining two primers layered on top of the skin...might upset your skin. And its no telling how your foundation will perform.

Well baby skin is not a primer. It will cause your make up to slip around and feel worse than without it. It is absolutely not for oily skin. Instead of using those two I'd say save up and get a higher end primer. Tarte has one for pores and one for brightening (both worked well with my oily skin). Benefit's Porefesional is a product I always repurchase and use daily on my tzone and it lasts about 8-12 months. I'm not a huge fan of the smashbox primers, urban decay primers, or the too faced primers as they are all terrible for oily skin even though they are oil free. In addition, I have yet to see a good drug store primer for pores and extended longevity of makeup.

I've used two primers. One for redness and one for pores and lines. So I didnt combine them just used on different areas of my face.

I agree with Cat. Invest in a higher-end primer. I personally like Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer even though I don't use it often. It keeps my enlarged pores on the down low and no crazy irritation with my oily/combo skin or oil slick.

Thanks girls, think I may give the double whammy primer a miss. Benefit porefessional sounds like a good option (wish I could afford mineral veil lol), thanks again for all!

I do the same as Grace. I use smashbox green color correcting primer on red areas and either porefessional or dr. brandt pores no more on my t zone. I love the way baby skin feels but it did nothing for my pores and only tried it on no makeup days bc as Cat said, it gives the skin a lot of slip.

Great thing about the smashbox and porefessional is that they have affordable trial sizes of both at Ulta so you can try them without a huge commitment. When compared price to size it actually is about even for the regular and trial sizes for them too which is unusual:)

Although I don't know if the Dior pore minimizer is good for oily skin, it did help diminish my pore size significantly more than the porefessional. I would assume it would be good for oily skin, since it leaves a nice velvety finish, but don't quote me on it lol.

I'm looking to try something in the 20-30 euro bracket just because I'm not sure yet, so I might look into the travel size options, thank you!
