since I have Ombre what would happen??
I always have had big big issues with dye.. the colors I choose don't lighten or stick properly... they barely lighten my hair...
right now I have Ombre..
I really do want my Ombre tips to be way lighter...
anyone knows what would happen with the top color & the bottom..?
will it make them both lighter?
what do you ladies think?...
(and yes I have gone to the salon.. I'm never satisfied because the color is never right...) :(

I'm not a colorist but if you buy a blonde color that has purple or blue tone should cancel out the brassiness or wella toner.
but color can't lift color. you may need to bleach your ends again in order to get a lighter blonde. I suggest that you go to a professional to do this process.

I'm a licensed hairdresser.
Color doesn't lift out color, so honestly the best thing to do is see a professional. A toner will soften the blonde you have now but it won't lift it. A hair dye will only lift 100% virgin hair. Box dye is awful for your hair and color from Sally's, etc., is by NO MEANS professional grade hair color. Be careful what you put on your hair love.

I totally agree with Kendall, it's beyond horrible for your hair. And you could always wait and save up to go get it done properly.. but if that's not an option for you, I'd bleach my hair, there's a kit at Wal-Mart, that way it beaches all of your hair, and then dye it blonde. If you just put blonde hair dye in your hair, you'll end up with an orange or something, trust me from experience lol. Hair masks including coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, eggs, avocado, etc.is what you need to do after you dye it. All hair dye is going to damage your hair, I believe that professionally is a little healthier than box dye, but it still does some damage. I've box dyed my hair 100 times and eventually, with hair masks, it mends my damage.. it takes awhile though and a lot of effort. So, you can't be lazy, or it'll be a disaster.

When all my hair was the same colour as your tips I used the blondest colour I could find from schwarzkopf and it lifted the colour to a light blonde colour with no brassy tones, I think it was live colour xxl ice blonde. It worked for me but it did damage my hair but no more than bleach would :)
