I have booth loose powder and compact style mineral makeup. I do have blemishes and for the days when I don't have time to do the whole concealing business I would like a brush that gives the fullest coverage possible. I know mineral makeup won't erase all my blemishes but I was just wondering if there's a brush out there that could help blur as much as possible.

I would suggest the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I have noticed that even with using products that naturally have minimal coverage, buffing it into the skin with this brush really helps achieve a look with a bit more of added coverage; you will want to be sure to concentrate your application of the product your using on the areas exactly where you need the coverage (I.e. right on a blemish, directly underneath the eye to conceal dark circles, etc). Hope this helped, Melanie!

Thanks Alicia! does it matter whether or not the bristles are synthetic or natural? or is the density of the bristles what matters most?

They both can have an impact on how products apply to your face, but I would say the density of the brush definitely has more of an impact. Typically for face brushes, the more dense a brush is (like the RT one above along with a regular face buffing brush) the better coverage you'll be able to achieve with it. A good example of this is comparing the buffing brush to the Real Techniques stippling brush. Their bristles are actually made up of the same material (ultra plush taklon bristles), but since the style and shape of the brushes are completely different, so is the effect of the amount of coverage you will be able to obtain :) Of course, the makeup item your using is going to determine how much coverage you'll be able to build up as well, due to the ingredients it's constructed of, how it's made, what exactly it is, etc. Is there anything else you need help with?

No I think I (finally) understand this now. thank you again for all the help! I'll definitely look into that real techniques brush <3.

Okay, good luck! :)

A dense brush made of natural hair is your best bet. Natural hair cuticles contain scales which allow it to properly grab and hold powder makeup. Synthetic hairs are better used for things like concealer or foundation brushes where you don't want product absorbed.
