Liquid foundation vs mineral foundation

what's better for your skin. especially in summer. I'm using maybelline fit me at the moment but it is melting and sinking into my skin making it look and feel very oily. is it the foundation or is liquid not good for hot summer days?

I use mineral powder foundation during the summer and save my liquid for fall/winter. I live in Florida so liquid in summer is just asking for trouble.
