hello. my name is victoria and im a professional beauty adviser. you're cutting to much of the skin off, that's how hang nails starts. you only want to push back the cuticles and cut off anything you see hanging. then follow up with a cuticle oil. i suggest solar oil by CND. I hope this will help you.

A cuticle oil or balm can prevent it. Burts Bees has a lemon cuticle balm, it looks like a lip balm but its great. ( WARNING: if your a nail biter, dont purchase ) And Sally Hansen has one, dont know the name but its in a little pot and its green and white swirled. (:
