Color Remover on dark hair.

I dyed my hair dark brown over a balayage and came out too dark. if I use color oops what color would my hair be?and what color should I re-dye it.

Unless your wanting to strip the color out I wouldn't go that route and I can just picture that weird color as the outcome. if you were looking to lighten I'd suggest using it for the minimum amount of time and dying over with a lighter shade of brown.

It makes your hair extremely light, my hair was red, previously brown with blonde ends before the red and my entire head is yellow blonde now.

Don't keep dying over it. With a lighter shade color doesn't lift color so in the end your hair will be darker. The best option is color oops(doesn't harm your hair at all!) or bleach

My point is you never know what you're going to get out of color oops, all you know is it'll lighten A LOT in the 20 minutes that you have it on your head. Before using it, you have to fade your color or it won't work like it's supposed to, it says it either on the box or in directions.

Why leave it on for the whole 20 minutes? I'd check it every 5 minutes and wash it when it's lightened to the point you want it. I've never used color oops though, that's just what I would do. Haha.

I had the same experience as Shannie, I used it to remove black dye from my unbleached brown hair and it went back to my natural colour. I'd definitely recommend it.

Results will be different with everyone, that's why I specifically said "You never know what you'll get with color oops." Lol. Glad y'all had a great experience but it won't be happy dandy with everyones hair.

Color oops removes dye. So it'll be whatever color it was before you dyed it (aka your natural color or if you lightened it, that color) it can remove old dye, it doesn't just remove the last dye on your hair it removes all of it. So if you had blonde hair (whether natural or because you bleached it) at any point on the hair that's still on your head, even if it was 6 dye jobs ago, then it will remove as much dye as it can, possibly resulting in blonde hair. If you had natural brown hair and dyed it black, then used color oops, it'll go back to brown. It may have a slight new red or a shy tint depending on the color you used, but it won't lighten on its own. There's no bleach or lightening product in color oops.

Shannie if you have a lot of dye in your hair it may not remove it all, so if you have 6 years of monthly dye in your hair of course it'll be harder to remove. But the idea of stripping hair color out, which is what color oops does, is to get to the natural or original starting color (if bleached). The intent is to be used on fresh first time dye, and it'll put it back to the original color. But with just a couple dye jobs it should still penetrate to the first original color. :)
And I know how much you dye your hair (not an insult, I just comment on your posts a lot lol) so it'd be hard to remove it all, especially black. But if you've only dyed your hair a few times or its not to drastic of a change it'll be easily removed and returned to the original color. Hope this makes sense!
