I am dyinggg to try acrylics because I think they are so pretty and I've never had them. But I already have pretty strong and healthy nails so do you think I can get away with getting them done just once without them damaging my nails?

You have beautiful nails!! But I'm sure you would be fine with the one time acrylics! Make sure you look after them and get them done properly though! x

Acrylic will definitely ruin your nails. It makes them extremely thin :( I'd keep them all natural, they look really nice as is :)

I think since your nails are strong it won't be too bad but a lot of times it will weaken your nails and they won't be how they are before acrylics. I agree they are really pretty. You should go for it because you nails are strong. My nails are already weak so I'm not going to do them even tho I really want them.

You could try a gel manicure with just gel polish.. however that dries out the nails too but it's not as harsh as getting the tips and acrylic and looks just as nice.

Acrylics ruin your nails, yes. But caring for them after you take them off and giving them breaks in between acrylics and you'll be fine.

Since your nails are already long you can get gel over them & it will almost look the same as acrylics. When it's taken off your nails will be thin but they'll grow back like normal

Yes they'll damage it, but your nails will grow back properly :) I've had mine done once only lol, but if your nails are like mine they'll grow back before you know it! :p maybe in a month or so, and in the meantime just put some oils for nails on them to keep them strong& healthy :)

It takes about a month after removal to get full healthy nails back it sucks so much just take care of your nails. My natural nails were a whole inch long no acrylics just take good care of them

Depends on how long you have them and how well you take care of em...you don't want them just ripping off bringing your actual nail down with it.

I used to use acrylics and I loved them, I waited tables in college and the polish stayed no matter how many times I washed my hands. When I removed them they were very weak- but only until they grew out and were beautiful again! I simply piled on Nail Tek hardener and I had beautiful nails back soon after. Lately my nails have been such a breaking, peeling mess I decided to get them done to make them strong. I've gotten gels, and the hard gel polish over the top. They've worked great, though I broke one, lol! I chose very long stilettos, and a nude gel coat so I can paint anything over the top. I haven't polished them in two weeks, and have not one chip! The gels are a bit ore expensive, but apparently better for your nail bed and look more natural than acrylics. I highly recommend, though the cost is high! I've actually ordered a home gel kit, not only the polish, but the builder gel too, so I'm going to try doing them myself at home! I'll let you know how it goes! I'm going to get them filled and the broken nail replaced, I'm going to see how she does it, but there are lots of good videos on YouTube! Enjoy them and just keep them cared for when you remove them!😳

I get acrylic nails for dances, so I've had around 5 sets. They stay on for a long time. I personally love them. The reason they damage your nails is because the manicurist uses a tool much like sand paper to get the tip and the fake nail to adhere well to your nail. When you get your acrylics removed, it looks gross. It does grow out. Healthier nail will grow back in. I normally do a layer of nail polish on after I remove my acrylics so I don't have to see what it looks like.
If you're going to do acrylics, let your nails recover before you go and do a second set. I usually wait three months or so, just to give my nails a break.
