Got matched up with Dior colour checker and got some but still haven't used it yet, what are your thoughts on this foundation?

I love it!! It definitely gives you a glow finish. Makes my skin appear as if I have no makeup on...your skin but better finish. I do apply using a damp Beauty Blender and so far that has been the best application method for me. I do suggest not blotting the skin before applying...I found that I get the best finish if I skip that step.

I just bought some last night! I made a post below that the ladies at every single makeup counter told me that none of their foundations are silicone based. Can you believe that? Anyway I'm excited to try my Dior and thanks Shelly for sharing that. That's exactly what I wanted to read this morning! 😊❤️

@Shelley, when you say blotting the skin, is it still ok to use a primer?

I actually apply using my fingers and then I follow with a brush that I have slightly dampened the bristles of with my daily moisturizer, it gives a beautiful flawless finish. Great foundation.

Well I just used it for the first time. I'm not saying it's not a good foundation, it just isn't for me. I applied after primer with a slanted foundation brush. It definitely delivered the promised dewy look, which I really really like. It did NOTHING for my under eye bags. I know that's not exactly the job of foundation but most of the time my foundation does a little something for that area. Dior Star did not. Probably due to the very sheer coverage. It also seemed to kind of highlight my pores. I've never had a pore issue before, my pores are small but when I applied this I noticed them in my cheek area right away. But again, it does give you a dewy, luminous finish and I love that about it. I must have had some serious bags today because even when I applied my Mac concealer they still stood there, loud and proud. I added a touch of a salmon tinted highlighter and that helped some. My YSL Touche Éclat highlighter pen applied on my forehead, down my nose, Cupid's bow, and on my chin blended beautifully with this foundation. I may try mixing just a bit of some regular foundation with it next time. Let me know how it works for you!

I was looking into getting this foundation as well. Would anyone have an idea what shade I should get? Lancome Nude Miracle I am Buff 210 and Urban Decay Naked Skin a 3.5? I am thinking 20 or 21, but I'm not sure... maybe I will just have to go get matched.

@Kathryn definitely do not apply over a primer. That was my mistake when I first tried it out as well. As far as putting enlarged pores on spotlight I have 'em too...when I use buff it out using my Beauty Blender it cancels those suckers out. Its a very strange formula texture wise...so I apply in sections blending it out and then go back in the Blender and just kinda do a buff/pat motion if that makes sense. And then I set it with the lightest touch of powder only in my t-zone and cheeks so my powder blush has something to adhere to.

@Heather...with this one I would just go in and get matched. And get a sample of both before deciding on color because some folks have experienced issue with oxidizing after it has "cooked" on the skin for a few mintutes.

I keep trying to post about this, there are two Dior products that will work well under the foundation. I am a huge Dior fan, but alas for some reason can't post the pic. I'm going to try posting it separately.

If you feel the need to prime and really make this foundation shine, use these.

I'm about to do my makeup. even though I hate posting bare faced photos, I can if anyone is interested, show you a bare faced, a primed face with the above products, and a finished face with the Dior foundation. just let me know.

I forgot about those two Dior primers Kelly! And I have a deluxe sample of the Dream Skin. Scared to try it though for fear of a nasty reaction.

Shelley I honestly can't speak of a specific reaction, but I do have really sensitive skin especially with the psoriasis, I can say these feel absolutely wonderful on my skin. I got multiple large samples before really biting the bullet and buying them. They just feel so soothing it's amazing. I know you have some SAs that would be happy to give you healthy doses of these to try, it took me about three trips, with week long samples, but it really paid off, I love them under my Dior foundations, and I alternate four different Dior foundations and bb creams depending on my mood. When I use my Guerlain foundation I use Guerlain primer under it, but Dior is my day to day go to.  :)

Ahhh...thank you for the heads up Kelly. I'm going to crack that baby open this weekend then. ;)

OK, Kathryn, I'll post them, just keep in mind. I have been at the hospital for a few weeks with my dad, my hair is scary (hasn't been died and my grays are showing) but I am taking my kids out tonight for dinner since I've been working and at the hospital. I am about to start now, so I'll post the whole thing here in about a half hour. :). I'll still look a bit a under par though cause I'm exhausted.

It looks great on you. What did you use on your skin after foundation that gave you the lighter finish?

I used the Hourglass ambient lighting powders.
