I don't use a hair straightener/blow dryer/curler every day (only on weekends), but I am wondering would it cause a lot of damage if I did? As long as I use a heat protectant?
Ps I don't know much about heat protectants, although I've Been using them for years ahah.
I do know that I used to straighten my hair every single day when I was at school ( for the first 4 years I never used a heat protectant) only for the last two years I used a heat protectant, and my hair is no healthier then it is now?

My personal philosophy towards hair is that you can do whatever you want to it so long as you also take care of it. If I were to flat iron my hair every day/every time I washed it, I would make sure to use a heat protectant and get trims when I start noticing splits, but honestly there are worse things to do to your hair. Am I making sense? I personally don't style my hair every day but I wouldn't feel bad if I did since I take great care of my hair otherwise. Also, make sure that your heat tools are low enough that they aren't burning your hair because that's actually what will destroy it.

I did this about 3 years ago and it ruined my hair. You get so used to the frizz free perfect straight hair that you won't easily stop to straighten it. My hair was completly dead and ugly and on days when I wanted to let it airdry it looked awful😂 so I grabbed my heat tools again... and yes I always used a heat protecter... now I never use any heat for about 2 years and my hair is so healthy again! I can let it airdry and it looks really nice. I can still see the damage on my ends from the heat damage so I trim them every now and then untill I get my healthy hair back :) so my advice... every once in a while you can use some heat but use good hair masks and take care of it👍😌

I agree with Hannah 100%! I straighten my hair every time I wash it but I take such good care of my hair so its not even damaged. My hair still looks healthy and it grows pretty quickly. Just nourish your hair.

I use a lot of heat style everyday and I completely agree with Hannah. I also highly recommend Its a 10 Plus Keratin for a heat protectant. It has really made my hair healthier from doing so much styling. Its expensive but 100% better than Tresemme or any other drugstore brand I have used.

Thanks guys:) I brought some products yesterday for my hair I just have to remember to buy a new mask I keep forgetting, I have a question though; I'm blonde so I have to use a to being conditioner (just started because I'm sick of having to get my hair died constantly), but I also have a norm conditioner and use a mask on my hair a few times a week. As I only wash my hair 3 times a week or less sometimes should I do one day with the toner, one day normal conditioner and one day mask??

I used to straighten my hair without a heat protector every day and I never had a problem with breakage or split ends, so I'm sure it will be fine to do it with a heat protectant.
Just make sure you listen to your hair! Some peoples hair breaks more easily than others. If you notice your hair starting to break and become unhealthy, then stop straightening it...it's as simple as that! Everyone's hair has different limits, so what might cause breakage for them might not cause breakage for you. Just remember to condition your hair, maybe look into some hair masks or something like that, and if you notice your hair becoming less healthy then stop straightening it everyday. Hope this helps :)

Always always always use some sort of heat protectant. I tell all of my clients to never touch their hair with any sort of heat without a protectant. It acts as a barrier between the heated tool and your hair, also it creates a smoother, shinier look.
