I recommend a smokey eye, but done with a brown or burgundy palette instead of black. For day to day wear, I recommend a nude palette for the lip. Clinique's #1 selling shade, "bamboo pink," goes perfectly with almost any skin tone. You could also do a totally nude lip, which helps the eyes really pop! I like Smashbox's Be Legendary lipstick in "nylon nude".

For nights out, I love the look of a red lip. If your eye makeup is on the brown/neutral side, go with a bright red, but make sure it suits your skintone. If you're extremely pale, like me, I recommend Chanel's "New York red", topped with a red gloss to make it pop. If you're using a burgundy palette on the eyes, go with a burgundy lip. Chanel's "russet moon" (which I'm afraid might not be made anymore) is a beautiful burgundy that will stop traffic. Literally. People have stopped me on the street to compliment my lipstick and find out what color it is. Test some things out and find out what you like. A nice neutral eye or maybe one with plum in it a neutral nudey pinky lip would work great and natural. Lots of mascara.
