Makeup looks not photographing well

Hi everyone! Okay to here's my issue... When I do a look, it looks really good in person but for some reason doesn't translate well on camera - even in natural lighting. :( I didn't post pics because I'm not satisfied w/them at all. Any suggestions/advise?? TIA!! :)

Well whenever you have something shiny on it's going to give a slight flashback. If you're in natural lighting, face away from the sun, with the flash off. Also, SPF of any kind on your face will make you look tons paler or give a weird cast to your skin. I hope this helps some. I mean unless we all have the super photography grade cameras, it won't turn out 100%.

Hi Alli! Makes sense. Most of the pictures I've been having problems with are flash pictures. Gonna give it a try and hopefully post some new pictures soon. Thanks!!! :)

It's easier without a flash. You could try taking the pictures in a doorway, or when it's a little overcast if you want the light to be softer

i have the sampe problem, but for some reason if i dont use flash, my photos are all blurry? flash makes them at least super clear. w/e guess its just my crappy 2009 camera.

I have the same problem , when I apply make up and I want to take a picture , it dont show very well on the camera/picture but I'm not gonna buy a new phone just to take pictures for a app

considering i have the 4s i doubt the pics are THAT much better, and i get what youre saying alyse, thats like 800 dollars if you already have a contract with another cell provider like i doooo.

I've been using my iPhone 4s, I get so-so results. I'm gonna try more pics in sunlight/natural lighting. Most of the pictures that crap out on me are taken w/flash in low lighting. I appreciate everyone's feedback, I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one w/this issue. :)

If your getting blurry pictures without flash it's because the shutter speed is too slow for hand holding the camera. You would need to put it on a tripod and use the timer if it has one.

rebecca is right, images are a play of lights and the shutter speed of the camera. of you go into direct sunlight, and you got glittery or shiny makeup on, it will just reflect. if you're using your phone's camera, you won't have control of the shutter speed, so you gotta play with the lights you have. if you have about $150 to spend, have a look at the Samsung MV800, it's veey easy to use and has and lcd screen that flips up so you can see yourself while taking the picture, and allows you to manipulate the settings as well. if that's not possible, when taking a picture using natural light, you can soften the lights by drawing your drapes away but leaving the lights curtain (don't know what it's called but it's meant to be sheer) closed to filters the light.

Increase your background lighting on the 4S and it will brighten your pics. I had and issue with dark blurry pics and it was bc my background lighting was too dim
