Boots are too big! Solutions?

I just ordered a pair of brown ankle boots, and they're bigger than I expected. I'm an 8 and these are in 8.5, but the size difference is pretty obvious. The seller on Amazon only had half sizes available, so the next smallest size would be a 7.5. I'm worried that if I send these back and get the 7.5 pair, they'll be too small. I've already tried wearing multiple pairs of socks, and it doesn't work. Any similar experiences/advice?

If all else fails I would order the smaller pair & if that one doesn't fit you can always return that too. Plus it might fit like I have boots that are a size 6 & another that's size 8 they both fit perfectly. :)

Return them and get different boots (from a different seller or buy some in person) or you could try to shrink them in the dryer but returning them would be the smartest idea.

You could stuff your boots in the toe area and on the sides. I wear 6.5 shoes and a lot of times people don't sell that size so I have to stuff my shoes. It works great for me, plus with winter here it definitely helps keep my feet warm! Also if you run into a similar problem, except it's not as big of a difference of extra room, they actually make foam strips to tape at the toe or heel end to make the size smaller. I got them at Wal-Mart, so they should be pretty easy to get your hands on. I hope I helped! Xx

Use tissue paper or regular tissues and put them in the front and back of your boots. Sometimes the bad thing is they still might look a little big. If this solution doesn't work then I have no idea what to do.

Also use those gel heel thingies.

You can also try "lifts". That is if you don't mind being a little taller. They will lift your foot a little higher in your shoes so the top of your foot will be closer to the inside top on your shoes. They also take up a little space in the back & toe of the shoes. They don't always work in all kinds of shoes but there is a good chance they will work in boots as long as you don't get them over 1 inch. You can find them on Ebay.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. If I were to order the size 7.5, would they be too uncomfortable?

If the boots are real leather or suede they will stretch a bit after you wear them.
