I am looking for a good camera that will show my work good. My iPhone doesn't to that much justice unless I filter my pictures :/ any recommendations of a good quality camera or any tricks?

IPhones have pretty decent cameras - make sure you take pictures in the best light possible. Also perhaps try editing your photos to correct for color and contrast? I personally like the apps VSCO Cam and Snapseed - they are my go-to for editing photos on my phone (which is an Android, but my brother and mom have an iPhone5 which is why I have some experience with the photo quality).
Also, have you made sure to modify the settings of your phone camera? For example raising the resolution?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel t4i - any of the Rebels will provide you with a really great starter DSLR camera, so if you're looking to go the DSLR route, I also second taking a look at the DIgital Rebel lines. However if you don't want something so bulky, I would go for a Canon or Sony point-and-shoot - you can find great cameras at great prices now.
Good luck!

I agree with Joan - one good iPhone camera trick is to use the back camera for pictures you want really crisp, and to tap "HDR" at the top of the screen before taking the picture. It takes 3 pictures and combines them to make it better than any of the individual ones.
