You should invest in some liquid latex, it makes a world of difference! And try using one piece of tissue and then (Very carefully) cutting it , it will look more flat and realistic. You have the idea down but just keep practicing, you'll get it down :). Also try looking up YouTube tutorials, they helped me a lot!!

Note: before you read, only trying to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Not trying to be rude. Looks very fake. I agree w/ purchasing liquid latex, and smoothing out the edges around the gash. It's very purple, as a normal gash wouldn't be. Try to make it smooth and real looking. If you aren't too queasy, looking up pictures of slash cuts as reference when doing this, would give you an idea of what actual cuts look like. (:
