This is kinda weird but I know that picking your split ends is really bad for your hair but I always catch myself doing it. any tips on how to stop?

I usually go through my hair with scissors. But I'm not sure if thats any better. You should really get a trim so there won't be any to pick!

If they're regular scissors or anything other than hair scissors, it's definitely not any better as it causes splits ends ^
