I know Manic Panic is a popular hair dye, & I was wondering how long does the color last & do you have to bleach your hair before using? Any other info would be great also 😊

It really depends what colour your hair is now and what shade you're going, personally it's recommended to bleach hair beforehand if you want the colour to be vibrant and as for how long it will last depends on the condition of your hair :)

Add some of the dye to your conditioner, you could touch up that way. Use cool water when washing your hair! & use a color safe shampoo that's specifically for the color that you're doing your hair. So a shade of blue would fall in the blue category, a shade of red would fall in the red category, purple would fall in the purple category, you can find color safe shampoo that's in your color at sallys or almost any other beauty store. Don't just use a "color safe" that doesn't specify what it's for, those most likely have ingredients that your hair isn't a fan of.

I used manic panic for some months and yes you need to bleach your hair and it doesn't last long. Now I am using Ion color brights from sally's beauty supply they last long and they don't damage your hair they have a guide where they tell you which level to bleach your hair depending on the color you want to achieve, you could mix it with a hair treatment or conditioner that will help to condition the hair from the bleach damage.

Veggie dyes are very personal. What works for one may not work for another. For example, manic panic lasts 2-3 months in my hair without touching up, but it lasts 4-5 washes in my sisters.
You will need to bleach if you want it to be vibrant. The lighter your hair, the more intense the color. I personally find special effects lasts longest on most people I know/hear about, followed by manic panic. But you just have to find what works on your hair. It'll all depend on the porosity, dryness, thickness etc.of your hair and the dye may not last at all or it may last months.
I don't recommend ion though, it's most likely to stain making it impossible to get our (this doesn't mean it lasts longer, just that you'll always have a ____ color tint to your hair) and it can be hard to use for beginners since it's very thick and hard to get even if you aren't used to it. It also has zero conditioning agents in it, because it's not a true veggie dye lie manic panic, special effects etc.which is veggie pigment and conditioner, ion is chemically made pigment and preservatives to make it last in the tube longer.
