I love using cremes for contouring as they look more natural. RCMA has a lovely contouring palette for $30.00 with a variety of shades.
On darker skin tones, you can really get away with just highlighting! Looking at your profile picture, your face definitely already has structure going on so highlighting or adding a nice blush to it will make your cheek bones pop enough.
