This is on my upper thigh, I don't grow much hair there so I don't even bother shaving on my thighs so it's not anything to do with shaving, so what are these tiny red bumps? I had something similar on my back arm and I used "rough and bumpy" lotion and my arms are fine now, I did it to my thighs too, thinking it was the same thing, but they're still there.

It is most likely keratosis pilaris. Which sounds like a scary flesh eating disease but it's not lmao 😝 I have it on my arms, chest and back and their basically little bumps that come up with the over production of keratin it's a form of eczema. There's nothing to really do for them except moisturizer and don't pick them because they will leave nasty scars trust me I made that mistake. And be sure to have sunblock on them if your ever in the sun! And exfoliating should help 😊. Hope this helps!

And they do get better as you get older so they eventually do go away on their own. It's also a very common skin condition I can guarantee 50% of people have.

Omg, I've been picking! Lol. I knew I shouldn't have but I just wasn't really paying attention. So keep using lotion, exfoliate and sun screen when I'm in the sun.. sounds like something I can do. Thanks y'all!

Yea, I know what it is but when the lotion didn't work, I just assumed that that's not what it was, the lotion I used got rid of it on my arms.. I'll post a picture of what lotion I used.

It took about 2 months for it to go away on my arms when using this lotion, I used it twice a day, still do just to keep it away..

Yeah that would be good to keep using! Any kind of thick lotion that one if probably perfect! I know it sucks because I'm a habitual skin picker and it's such a hard habit to break! But I wished I would have never started because now from all the years I have these ungodly scars on my arms which just look ratchet. I've been trying to lay off the picking which has been going well so they look better! Just being patient is the best option 😄

I think it kerstosis pilaris as well. I have it in my thighs and backs of my arms which is generally where it forms. I used cetaphil cleanser and moisturiZer and it Worked to get rid of it or next time your at the doctors tell them, and they'll just touch it and give you ammonium lactate lotion that I have and its AMAZING.

Fun facts: 60% of the population have this. it effects mostly women, and more often twins. it's easy to treat, just moisturize 2-3 times daily, but don't expect instant gratification.

Hi cierra , I went to the doctor about this and he told me it was incurable and there's nothing I could do about it. Could you tell me more about ammonium lactate lotion? Thanks!

While technically there is no. 'cure' because this doesn't cure the source of the problem, it does get rid of the bumps, which makes me happy. lol. but it isn't a cure so I guess he's right. it helps your skin break Down the Keratin that builds up to form a bump though.

Main ingredient is lactic acid 12% lactic acid which is known to be a good way to lessen the effects of kerstosis pilaris as well as moisturizing as I stated. there are lactic acid treatment you can get without a prescription. I just got this because it was covered by my insurance and my doctor is amazing and knew it was bothering me.

I'm with W J on this one.. I got all over thighs. a steroid cream once helped a little. this condition has not been confirmed yet for me personally, but can you girls tell me if there are hard tiny lumps & sometimes with a hair caught inside the spots you all get?? I confess I pick too lol.

Tina, that sounds like an ingrown hair. I have very little knowledge of how to get rid of them but I'm sure you could do some research and find out how to get rid of them.

Thanks Cierra! I'll definitely ask my doctor about this 😄

Well since the keratin buildup is in the pore and hair folical itself I would guess that a hair can get trapped. I've had it happen a few times.
