This is going to sound motherly, but do u drink a lot of water? I had really oily skin, then started drinking tons of water. Voila! Oily skin turned normal. It REALLY works!

The things that helped me the most was getting a face primer that instantly mattified my skin. Then I would blot the oil from my foundation before I applied setting powder. Get a really good setting powder. I use Tarte Amazonian Clay Powderful, it's pricey but really works! Also, an indie company Pumpkin and Poppy make a great translucent powder. Plus, always try to get satin to matte finish foundation. Anything other than that will slide off no matter what you do!

I agree with Rachel, water helps. I used to be really oily before I started taking proper care of my skin, and all I can recommend is DON'T DRY YOUR SKIN OUT. Using harsh cleansers and toners and skipping moisturizer makes your sebaceous glands go into overload to make up for the natural oils you have taken out.
Use a gentle cleanser, a ph balanced toner, and a light moisturizer. Then you can use a mattifying primer before you apply your foundation and that should help. It will take a few weeks for your skin to adjust, but once it does your skin will be a lot nicer I promise.

Try a Milk of Magnesia mask. Just apply w a cotton ball, allow it to dry and rinse it off. I tried and it worked well. It wasn't a Miracle Cure for oily skin, but it definitely helped.

I have very oily skin but I do a lot to stop it throughout the day!
First of all, I've been using Rimmel's Stay Matte oil controlling powder to set my foundation, seems to be making a difference!
I set all of my makeup with Urban Decay's De-Slick makeup setting spray.
Finally, and most importantly, carrying oil absorbing sheets with you is extremely important. Clean & Clear sells them for about $5 a pack. If my face starts to get oily you just use a sheet to dab the oily spots and it takes off the oil without hurting your makeup at all! They're seriously my life savers, so I recommend carrying those with you!

Agree with changing your moisturizer. Plus invest in a good setting spray and blotting papers or a blot powder.
