Ugh so I just changed my nose piercing last night from the one I got it pierced with to a hoop. Shouldn't it not hurt so bad ?! :(

The first time I changed my stud out it hurt extremely bad, I think nose piercings take a while to fully heal. Is the hoop a proper size..? One of my friends had changed hers out to a hoop but it was too small and irritated her nose.

Like thickness wise ? It seems to be the right size. Just when I move it or touch it it hurts. But I feel like I should move it every now anthan ?

Both gauge size and how it fits around your nose. It will hurt for a while, I've had mine pierced for years and it still gets irritated if put in the stud wrong. Moving it usually just makes it worse, if you leave it alone it should heal faster. Also, touching/moving the piercing "site" can develop keloids, which is scar tissue.

Lol no, I think that's a misconception or something with all piercings because I remember asking my piercer about it. Something I found useful though is to remove my piercing after I get out of the shower or even just splashing some water on it. The piercing should easily slip out when wanting to change it out :)

When I changed mine, it hurt for a few days! My entire nose hurt to touch! If you've had it for more that 4months you can dip a q-tip in alcohol or peroxide and clean around the hoop to make sure there's no infection!

Same happened to me. Not to bash/ disagree/ etc. with Hayley, but stay away from alcohol & peroxide- it can irritate it & dry it out too much. You need to clean in twice daily until fully healed, then once daily for life with saline (salt water). You can buy sterile saline solution at any drug stores (in the contacts section) or tattoo shops sell this stuff called H2Ocean, but it's basically the same thing as saline but at a jacked up price. Mine didn't FULLY heal for almost 9 months to a year. But if you ever have ?s, just go & talk to a piercer. They are always there to help.

Yes just wanted to agree with whitney, alcohol and peroxide are TERRIBLE for all piercings. They interfere with the good bacteria thats helping to heal the piercing. Best thing to use is just some soap and water on a qtip and just leave it alone. If it hurts to change it then just try to wait a little bit longer. It takes a bit of time to heal and the pain will stop shortly then you can change it! Make sure not to knock it around too much tooo
