By dark do you mean dark brown? For my dark brown eyes I like to use champagnes, bronzes, lighter pinks, and light browns. A simple medium brown eye with dark purple or navy liner can make dark brown eyes stand out.

Cream in the lid, light brown in the crease and a slightly darker brown on the outer edge is usually easy and complimentary :)
